Marinara


Do it yourself marinara!  It's super quick and easy, great for dipping or topping. 
 
 
Ingredients:
 
1 - 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 teaspoons fresh parsley, minced
2 teaspoons fresh basil, minced
2 teaspoons fresh oregano, minced
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
salt
pepper
 
 Method:
 
Heat butter and oil in heavy bottom pan over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic until soft.  Stir in tomato paste, cook for about 30 seconds.  Add tomatoes, herbs and sugar.  Simmer on medium-low for 30 - 40 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.  Process with blender for a smoother sauce or enjoy as is!
