Maple Apple Crisp
This super simple Apple Crisp with a touch of maple I am told was "to die for". And so, the recipe is a keeper.
Ingredients:
Apple layer:
5 cups peeled, cored, sliced apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup maple syrup
Crumble layer:
1/2 stick (4 tablespoons) butter, melted and cooled
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oats, quick or old fashioned (I prefer old fashioned, more chew)
1/2 cup brown sugar, almost tightly packed
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven the 375 degrees.
Combine apples with cinnamon and maple, pour in to 2 quart baking dish, an 8x12 was used here since its deeper.
For the topping; combine flour, oats, sugar and salt. Adding butter last, stir to combine and evenly top apples. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes, or until crumble is gold brown in color.
